Abstract
The isotopic fractionation of nitrogen in the reaction in vitro of glutamine synthetase isolated from spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) leaves was calculated from the changes in natural 15N abundance (δ15N value) of ammonia and amide of glutamine during the incubation. The observed isotope fractionation under our conditions was -16.5±1.5%.
