Forest fire detection in far east region of Russia with NOAA-15 in 1998

Abstract

This paper describes the forest fire detection with 1.6 micro meter band which has boarded NOAA-15 satellite in AVHRR channel 3A. The target area was Far East Region of Russia where many forest fire were occurred in 1998. The channel 3 A shows the superiority for the burning area.
