Fluctuation spectrum in the configurational relaxation process calculated by the path probability method

Abstract

Within the framework of the Path Probability Method, the fluctuation spectrum is calculated for a configurational relaxation process in the disordered phase field of an fcc lattice at 50 at.%. The most probable kinetic path deviates significantly from the steepest decent direction of the free energy contour surface. It is revealed that the kinetic path traces the easiest direction of fluctuation.
