First-order magnetization process in oblique-easy-axis antiferromagnet FeTiO3

    Abstract

    High-field magnetization measurements on the single crystal FeTiO3 have revealed a sudden jump in the magnetization at 235 kOe, when a dc field is applied parallel to the hexagonal a-axis at 4.2 K. No anomalous change was observed along the a*-axis, which is taken to be perpendicular to both a- and c-axes.
