Field-induced antiferroquadrupolar order in TbB2 C2 observed by resonant X-ray scattering

We have investigated the field-induced coexistent phase of antiferroquadrupolar (AFQ) and antiferromagnetic order in TbB2 C2 by resonant X-ray scattering. Incident energy dependences of forbidden and superlattice reflections show that the field-induced AFQ order in TbB2 C2 is structurally the same one as in the AFQ-ordered phase of DyB2 C2 and HoB2 C2 at zero magnetic field.
