Abstract

We demonstrate 10 Gb/s soliton transmission over 2700 km for the first time in the dispersion-distributed commercial submarine optical amplifier system with an optical amplifier spacing of 90 km. The impact of distributed fiber dispersion in soliton transmission is experimentally and numerically discussed.
