Abstract

Ba2NaNb5O15 (BNN) thin films were deposited by the rf magnetron sputtering method on fused-quartz and Pt substrates in Ar+O2 (9:1) atmosphere at 2Pa for 8h. The c-axis-orientated BNN thin films were successfully grown at the substrate temperature of 730°C and 780°C. The remanent polarization (Pr) and coercive field (Ec) of specimen deposited at 730°C were 30.9μC/cm2 and 13kV/cm, respectively. The second harmonic generation (SHG) experiment was performed using Nd:YAG laser (λ=1.06mm). The SHG intensity of specimen deposited at 830°C was the strongest compared with another two specimens deposited at 730°C and 780°C.
