Ferrocene-containing polyelectrolyte multilayer films: Effects of electrochemically inactive surface layers on the redox properties

Abstract

The effect of electrochemically inactive surface layers on the redox properties of ferrocene-containing polyelectrolyte multilayer films was discussed. It was found that the redox properties depend on the deposition of outer layers even if the outer layers conatin no redox sites. The cyclic voltammogram (CV) of film-coated electrodes depended on the polarity of the outermost layer.
