fs pump-probe experiment was performed on the B→a nonadiabatic dynamics in the Hg-CO vdW complex. Based on the observed wave packet propagation, the dynamics of the relevant nonadiabatic transition were identified. It was found that the transition occurs near the point where Hg and CO come nearest to each other on the B-state surface with a probability of 0.063 for a single approach of Hg and CO.
