Fabrication of a flexible AMOLED display using ink-jet printing on an IGZO-TFT backplane

Abstract

We have developed a flexible active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display fabricated by ink-jet printing OLEDs and amorphous InGaZnO 4 (IGZO) thin-film transistors (TFTs). Phosphorescent polymers were used as emitting layer of OLEDs, and the uniform emitting layer was obtained for RGB color pixels. We applied olefin-type polymer gate insulators to fabricate IGZO-TFTs at temperatures of less than 130°C. The fabricated TFT showed a field-effect mobility of 4.9 cm 2/Vs.
