Abstract

A 72-year-old woman was referred to the hospital due to a cystic tumor in the liver. F-18 FDG PET/CT demonstrated intense uptake in the marginal parenchymal region of the cystic tumor in the left lobe of the liver. Subsequently an extended left hepatectomy was performed. The histopathological findings demonstrated biliary cystadenocarcinoma. FDG/PET may thus contribute to the diagnosis of malignant cystic tumors in the liver.
