Experimental and theoretical analysis of rotational hysteresis loss in CoCrTa perpendicular recording media

Abstract

The value of rotational hysteresis loss (Wr) was measured for various CoCrTa perpendicular media. It was shown that Wr and the hysteresis integral Rh are dependent on the perpendicular anisotropy and the strength of intergranular exchange coupling. Simulated result using a model based on the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert (LLG) equation were compared with the experimental results.
