Abstract

In this paper, exact positioning of an electro-hydraulic servo system constructed as the model of Sheet-Molding-Compound press system has been investigated based on the modern control theory. In order to get over the non-linear characteristics of the system, the piecewise linearization technique was applied. The model is then reduced through the Singular Perturbation method. Comparison among the experiment and non-linear and linear models has revealed the advantage of the present piecewise linear model to the ordinary one. Performances of the conventional P-control and the optimal regulater with the full state feedback were then compared on the numerical simulation. The optimal regulater based on the model gave an excellent result, while a small oscillation of micron order still remained in the piston displacement for the P-control case. (English summary)
