Abstract

In order to evaluate handling performance of rubber roller for flexible media handling system quantitatively, the parameter, which describes permissible range of the normal load for well handling of flexible media, is introduced. By comparison with friction coefficient, which is the conventional evaluation parameter for handling property, the usefulness of this parameter is proven with the experimental results observed in handling system with rubber roller and paper. Further, theoretical equation is introduced for prediction of friction property with micro-slip during handling of flexible media, and it agrees well with observed values.
