Abstract
A photoemission study of C60 thin films evaporated on Eu clarifies that the t1u derived states are occupied by electron transfer from Eu to C60. This result suggests that Eu forms a C60 fulleride whose electronic structure is close to the semiconducting phase like K4C60. It is also concluded that longer annealing breaks the intramolecular chemical bonds in the C60 cage.
