Abstract

Using locally received AVHRR, air-temperature (Ta) in Japan is estimated. The 566 coupled data sets of Ta at 1.5m and AVHRR observation are produced. The truth data are classified into three groups (forest, fields, and city) according to the ground component, and Relation between the AVHRR temperature and the truth temperature is examined. Regression relations using multi channels are derived to estimate Ta. The rms error is 2.5-2.8C for each of the categories.
