Abstract
Quasi-one-dimensional halogen-bridged mixed-metal complexes, Ni1-xPdx(chxn)2Br3 have been studied by ESR. For all x-values, spin susceptibility χ showed Curie-like behavior at low temperatures, while weakly temperature dependent behavior for higher temperatures. The absolute values of χ at RT showed a clear enhancement from the linear summation of susceptibilities of Ni and Pd fractions. ESR linewidth showed monotomic decrease from Ni to Pd side. These magnetic behaviors are discussed in relation to the occurrence of novel electronic states associated with mixed-metal chains.
