Abstract
16bit label swapping of 10Gbit/s asynchronous optical packets with a label swapper module composed of an optically clocked transistor array (OCTA) integrated with a CMOS label processor is demonstrated. The OCTA's ability to perform demux/mux and clock generation enables a compact, low-power interface between the high-speed asynchronous optical labels and CMOS circuit. Error-free operation is achieved for a >10dB input dynamic range.
