Equilibrium between metallic titanium and titanium ions in MgCl 2 LiCl molten salt

Abstract

The equilibrium between metallic titanium and titanium ions, 3Ti 2+ = 2Ti 3+ + Ti, in MgCl 2 LiCl molten salt system was revaluated by means of best fitting. The measurement was also carried for the MgCl 2 LiCl melt with various composition of LiCl at 1023 K. The results illustrate that the values of K c correspond well with the composition of the melt which defined as polarizing power.
