Epitaxial growth of some diacetylene monomers on a polydiacetylene single crystal

Aiming at the fabrication of thin single crystal of polydiacetylene towards nonlinear optical device applications, epitaxial growth of several diacetylene monomers, from their molten state, on the single crystal of a well-known polydiacetylene, i.e., poly-PTS was investigated. It has been found that the poly-PTS crystal works as the substrate of epitaxial growth not only for the PTS monomer but also for two other monomers.
