Abstract

The entropy change at the martensitic transformation in ferromagnetic shape memory alloys Ni2+xMn1-xGa was investigated. The martensitic phase of the alloys with a low temperature of martensitic transformation had a five-layered modulation. Results suggested that the change in modulation of the martensitic phase of Ni2+xMn1-xGa resulted in discontinuity of the composition dependence of δS.
