Enhancement of two-dimensional superconducting Tc by one-dimensional charge density wave instability theory of the high Tc superconductor Y-Ba-Cu-O

Abstract

We investigate the origin of the high Tc superconductivity in the Y-Ba-Cu-O compound, paying attention to the experiment indicating the one-dimensional lattice instability. It is shown that the one-dimensional charge density wave formation gives rise to the enhancement of the two-dimensional superconducting Tc. On the basis of the theoretical analysis, we propose a guiding principle of searching for higher Tc material.
