Electronic and magnetic properties of MnAs nanoclusters studied by x-ray absorption spectroscopy and x-ray magnetic circular dichroism

Abstract

Electronic and magnetic properties of the hexagonal NiAs-type MnAs clusters were discussed. The thin films were epitaxially grown on GaAs substrates using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). These clusters were prepared by high-temperature annealing of Ga1-xMnxAs using X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD). The results show the magnetic dependence of the XMCD shows no hysteresis curves at the fixed photon energy.
