Electrical properties of iodine-doped materials comprised of (phthalocyaninato)iron and azopyridines

Abstract

The preparation and electrical properties of iodine-doped phthalocyaninatoiron polymers {[Fe(Pc)L]Iy}n and {[Fe(Pcb)L]Iy}n {Pc = phthalocyaninato, Pcb = tetra-tert-butylphthalocyaninato, L = 4,4'-azopyridine (4,4'-APy) and octafluoro-4,4'-azopyridine (4,4'-FAPy)} were investigated. The stoichiometry of polymer complexes was determined by TG/DTA. The iodine-doped {[Fe(Pc)(4,4'-APy)]Iy}n complexes were semiconducting materials in the range of 10-4 to 10-10 S/cm.
