Abstract
Elasto-plastic analysis was carried out for the corner region of a slit under compressive stress. From this analysis the ratio of work hardening coefficient to elastic modulus was found to play an important role in transition from the elastic stress field to the plastic stress field. The aspect ratio of a slit under the elasto-plastic condition little affects the stress concentration at the slit corner. But stress apart from the corner decreases rapidly when the aspect ratio decreases.
