Effects of Spark Plasma Sintering Parameters on the Crystallization and Densification of Fe 76Si 9B 10P 5 Atomization Powders

Abstract

A soft magnetic Fe 76Si 9B 10P 5 glassy bulk material was prepared by the spark plasma sintering technique below the glass transition temperature. The glassy powders were consolidated into bulk forms with relative densities above 98.7%. The sintering parameters were a temperature of 467 °C, a pressure of 600 MPa, a heating rate of 100 °C/min, and a holding time of 6 min while the samples were still in a glassy state. The effects of these parameters on the crystallization and densification of Fe 76Si 9B 10P 5 were investigated by X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry.
