Abstract
Magnetization and thermomagnetization curves for La(Fe0.85Al0.15)13 and La(Fe0.83Al0.17)13 compounds have been measured under pressure in order to investigate the volume effect on the ferromagnetic state. With increasing pressure, the magnetic state of the La(Fe0.85Al0.15)13 compound changes from the ferromagnetic to the antiferromagnetic state at quite a low pressure of 0.25 GPa. In the ferromagnetic state of La(FexAl1-x)13 (x=0.83 and 0.85), the magnitude of the pressure coefficient ∂ ln TC/∂P is much larger than that of ∂ ln MS/∂P, suggesting a positive curvature of the density of states at the Fermi level.
