Effect of Pb on the interface structures of Co/Ni and Co/Cu metallic multilayers

Abstract

The Co/Ni and Co/Cu multilayers using Pb as a surfactant were fabricated in the growth chamber of MBE. We have investigated the differences in the interface structures and magnetotransport properties between surfactant-mediated multilayers and normal ones. From the results of X-ray diffraction and magnetoresistance measurements, we concluded that the use of a small amount of Pb surfactant reduces the interface roughness and changes the magnetotransport properties.
