Abstract

The effect of crystal orientation relationship on inducement of anisotropy in hydrogenation disproportionation desorption recombination (HDDR) was discussed. The crystal orientation relationship between the parent Nd2Fe14B phase and the disproportionated mixture during the HDDR treatment was investigated using x ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. The result showed that retaining the crystallographic orientation relationship during HDDR treatment was important for the inducement of anisotropy.
