Effect of crystal orientation relationship on anisotropic inducement in the HDDR treated Nd-Fe-B alloys

Abstract

The effect of crystal orientation relationship on anisotropic inducement in the hydrogenation disproportionated desorption recombination (HDDR) treated Nd-Fe-B alloys was discussed. The strong (006) reflection of the Nd2Fe14B phase was observed in an amorphous sintered body which was due to the magnetic alignment of the powders during the compacting process. It was concluded that the v-HD treatment is effective for causing the disproportionation reaction retaining the crystallographic orientation relationship between the parent Nd2Fe14B phase and the disproportionated mixture.
