Abstract
The polycrystalline TiO 2@TiC 0.5-xO 0.5+x ceramics with core-shell structure were prepared through the spark plasma sintering process. Both thermoelectric (TE) transport properties and microstructure of the ceramics were investigated. The TiO 2 shell had a remarkable effect on the transport properties of the system. Large electrical conductivity and thermopower was observed in coating 15% TiO 2@TiC 0.5O 0.5 sample. The maximum power factor is 8.1 × 10 -4 W m -1 K -2 and the corresponding ZT value is 0.3 at 873 K for 15% TiO 2@TiC 0.5O 0.5.
