Dynamics of probe particles during sol-gel transition of PBLG-DMF solution and the resulting gel structure

    Abstract

    To further understand the sol-gel transition and the resulting gel structure of PBLG-DMF system, DLS measurements were performed by using PMSG as a probe particle. As a reference, PBLG-DMF system without PSMG displayed bimodal decay modes of concentration fluctuation at the sol state. Both modes were confirmed to be diffusion mode. Evidence was obtained that PBLG gel at the swollen gel state is a porous and bicontinuous structure, which is induced by complex competitive processes between connectivity of PBLG chains and microphase separations.
