Dynamical correlation of fractionally charged excitons with a two-dimensional electron system

Abstract

We investigate a circularly polarized photoluminescence using a gated single GaAs quantum well sample in the fractional quantum Hall effect regime. We have found that the lower energy peak χ S - is polarized to σ + polarization. This result is explained by considering the equilibrium between fractionally charged excitons and a two-dimensional electron system.
