Abstract
A third-harmonic cavity has been installed on the UVSOR electron storage ring in order to suppress longitudinal coupled bunch instability with a double RF system. The bunch length and the frequency spread of the synchrotron oscillation were increased with the double RF system, and the measured values at a low beam current were consistent with calculated ones. The longitudinal coupled bunch instability has been perfectly damped by Landau damping at the beam current of at least up to 300 mA.
