Doppler-free resonant Raman Auger spectroscopy study on atoms and molecules

Recent developments are reviewed for the Doppler-free resonant Raman Auger spectroscopy studies of atoms and molecules on the beamline 27SU at Spring-8 in Japan. Using the Doppler-free technique, we have investigated the Ne+ excited states which are not accessible by direct photoemission. We have resolved the lowest two members (n=3, 4) of the series of the inner-valence excitations 2s2p5(1,3P)np 2S, 2P, and 2D in Ne+ and established the assignments of these levels based on the measured Auger anisotropic parameters and branching ratios. Furthermore, the lifetime widths have been measured for some of these states as well as for 2s02p6(1S)np 2P (n=3, 4). We have also investigated vibrational motions in some Auger final states of H2O+.
