Abstract
Domain structure movement in L10 FePt films with nominal thickness tN = 45 and 50 nm were observed by magnetic force microscope (MFM). The coercivity Hc changes by one order of magnitude with the morphology change from a separated island structure at Hc = 45 nm to a continuous network structure at tN = 50nm. A nucleation-type reversal was shown in the islands, while a domain wall movement in initial process was observed in the continuous networks.
