Abstract

The average mass-transfer coefficient obtained from the change of concentration of carbon in liquid iron with time does not depend on temperature, but on the power of the furnace. The local mass-transfer coefficient obtained from the change in diameter of the rod varies with the position of the rod, the frequency and the power of the furnace.
