Abstract

(Chemical Equation Presented) Fully reversible crystal photochromism between the μ-O2SSO2 (1) and μ-O2SOSO (2) forms of a dinuclear rhodium complex has been observed. The photochromic reaction, including stereoselective oxygen-atom transfer and stereospecific transformation of photochemically generated μ-O2SOSO isomers into the most stable isomer, was directly followed by conventional single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
