Dimerization of phosphasilaferracycles: Formation and structures of isomeric Fe2Si2P2 six-membered metallacylcles

Abstract

Irradiation of Cp(CO)2FeSiMe2PPh2 led to formation of an isomeric mixture of Cp2Fe2(CO) 22-{μ2(Si,P)-Me2SiPPh 2}]2 through generation of Cp(CO)-Fe{μ2(Si, P)-Me2SiPPh2} and its successive dimerization. The three-membered-ring complex reacted smoothly with acetone to give the insertion product Cp(CO)Fe{μ2(Si,P)-Me2SiOCMe2PPh 2}.
