Abstract

The Serial Video Processor (SVP) is a general purpose mask-programmable SIMD RISC (Single Instruction Multiple Data, Reduced Instruction Set Computer) device capable of executing in real time the 3-D algorithms required for image processing and digital television. Its architecture, application and development environment are described.
