Abstract
We report the first successful dHvA experiment under uniaxial compression in such compound Ce3Pd20Ge6 that exhibits quadrupolar ordering and in its reference compound La3Pd20Ge6. The frequency changes with uniaxial pressure are qualitatively similar in the two compounds, but the magnitude of the frequency change in Ce3Pd20Ge6 is about twice as much as that in La3Pd20Ge6, implying that the degenerate ground state of the localized f electrons is significantly affected by the uniaxial compression.
