Abstract
The site preferences of Cu and Ge in Ni3Al with an Ll2 structure have been investigated by atom probe field ion microscopy (APFIM). The fraction of Cu atoms at the Ni sites was determined to be 94% in the case of the Ni75Al23Cu2 alloy. On the other hand, the fraction of Ge atoms at the Ni site of the Ni76Al23Ge1 alloy was determined to be 11%.
