Abstract

We investigated the design conditions of the viewing-angle-controllable (VAC) liquid crystal panel by using a Poincare sphere representation. As a result, we clarified a VAC LC panel using vertically-aligned (VA) LC cell and negative C-plate has a high light shielding efficiency.
