Abstract

The effect of temperature (1250 degree approximately 1450 degree C), silicon and manganese in carbon-saturated iron (0. 1%P, 0. 05%S) was studied by using flux of the CaSO//4 minus CaCO//3 system. CaSO//4, has a strong dephosphorization power. Efforts were made to prevent sulfur pick-up by additions of CaF//2, Na//2CO//3 and CaC//2.
