Abstract
In recent years, the education which used the information technology is needed in Japan. Moreover, the primary school education is indispensable in order to consider the environmental problem. We built the satellite image database based on AVHRR data for which it is easy to look intelligibly also for primary school children. This database consists of images of every day of local areas, and images of a typical natural phenomenon which was difficult to understand in having looked on the ground such as a typhoon, a flood, and a forest fire. We cut off only the portion of a specific local area and made them the database so that it might be easy to use the image data which has received on real time in Tohoku University every day. It is indispensable to such a database for the primary school education that access can be done simply. All schools do not have the broadband network. We compressed the capacity of data fewer than that of the other databases for research so that access could be done simply in any networks.
