Abstract
In this paper, we report on the infrared cyclotron resonance in wide gap II-VI compounds, such as ZnS, ZnSe, CdS and CdSe, in very high pulsed high magnetic fields up to 500T, generated by electromagnetic flux compression and the single turn coil technique. Very clean data of the cyclotron resonance was observed in the megagauss fields. By comparing the resonance fields with the second order perturbation theory, we determined accurate values of the band edge bare mass, the polaron mass, and the electron-phonon coupling constants in these materials.
