We have investigated the c-axis anisotropy of a novel electron-doped single crystal Pr0.9LaCe0.1CuO4 (Tc = 25.8 K) by means of the magnetic torque. We pay a careful attention to the contribution from the Pr3+ moments. We obtain the anisotropy parameter 36 ≲ γc < 68 by analyzing the torque curve in 3000 G at 22 K. As far as the c-axis anisotropy is concerned, the properties of electron-doped cuprates are very similar to the hole-doped cuprates. The magnetization studies reveal that the irreversible line of Pr0.9LaCe0.1CuO4 is much higher than Bi2212. In addition, no second peaks appear in the magnetization curves at various temperatures. We conclude that the c-axis anisotropy in Pr0.9LaCe0.1CuO4 is fairly weaker than Bi2212.
