N2 - We performed neutron inelastic scattering experiments on the CeSix system (x = 1.7, 1.8 and 1.9) in order to study the composition dependence of crystal field excitations. The reference material CeGe1.7 was also measured. We found that the linewidths of the excitations in CeSix are anomalously large even in the ferromagnetic compounds and increase with increasing x. The linewidth increase is remarkable in the heavy electron regions.
