Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to reveal experimentally the change of a local creep strain distribution with time in a region of 500 mu m multiplied by 500 mu m surrounding a crack tip of 2 one quarter Cr-1Mo steel. The fine-grid method, a developed technique for measuring local strains, makes it possible to measure continuously every in-plane components of creep strains at 550 degree C in a vacuum of 10** minus **5torr. It was shown that the creep strain fields in a local crack tip region were characterized by the creep strain intensity parameter A(t), which was proposed by authors.
