Abstract
The compressive creep deformations at elevated temperatures have been investigated using single decagonal Al-Ni-Co samples prepared by Czochralski method. The creep deformation is characterized by a significant anisotropy of activation energy between the different compressive directions of 2-fold symmetry axis (330 k J/mol) and 10-fold symmetry axis (120 k J/mol). The difference of deformation mechanisms along the 2-fold and 10-fold axes has been examined by the HRTEM observation which showed varied cluster rearrangements.
